The Florinilla, a member of the well-known Medinilla family, is the result of 15 years of intensive plant breeding. Its compact habit, naturally glossy leaves, and waterfalls of brightly coloured pink inflorescences make this plant a real delight for the living room.Position The Florinilla will thrive in a sunny position, preferably near a window. During the winter, a Florinilla will tolerate direct sunlight, so a position facing the southwest or southeast would be ideal. Although receiving plenty of light is also important during the summer, a position receiving direct sunlight would be inadvisable since the intensity of the summer sun could result in leaf scorch. Watering The Florinilla prefers a generous watering of either tap water or rain water but will not tolerate waterlogged soil. Even so, the soil in the pot should not be allowed to dry out. The plant will definitely appreciate a fine misting of its leaves and buds in a dry living room climate. Nutrition Providing nutrients is not necessary during the first weeks following purchase. Afterward, apply a liquid fertiliser on a regular basis. For more information: www.florinilla.com
